A respected California-based law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Legal Secretary to support its Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Groups in the San Francisco office. This role offers the opportunity to work with experienced attorneys in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that values professionalism, collaboration, and exceptional client service.

The ideal candidate will have legal secretary experience, strong knowledge of state and federal litigation procedures, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency. If you're highly organized, tech-savvy, and take pride in supporting top-tier legal professionals, this position offers a dynamic and fulfilling opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage attorney calendars, court appearances, depositions, and travel
  • Prepare legal documents for court filings, discovery, hearings, arbitration, and mediation
  • Draft correspondence, format legal documents, and process high-volume mail
  • Coordinate court reporters, expert witnesses, visuals, and expense reporting
  • Handle client communications with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Maintain deadline tracking, conflict checks, and client file organization
  • Assist with time entry, billing, email, phones, and document production
  • Provide back-up and team support as needed

Candidate Requirements:

  • Legal secretarial experience with deep litigation and trial knowledge
  • Proficient in federal and state court filing rules, including e-filing
  • Familiarity with arbitration/mediation platforms (AAA, JAMS, etc.)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Accurate typing skills (50+ wpm) and excellent proofreading ability
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated reliability, client focus, and confidentiality
  • Self-starter able to work both independently and collaboratively
