  • Oversee the summer associate program, including training, assignments, evaluations, and events.
  • Manage recruiting budget and ATS; analyze data for reporting and benchmarking.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to firmwide initiatives.

ROLE SUMMARY

Jenner & Block is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Legal Recruiting Specialist to lead key legal recruiting initiatives in our San Francisco office. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic Talent Team dedicated to attracting, hiring, and retaining top-tier legal talent while contributing to firmwide initiatives that shape the future of our workforce.

This position is an exempt position based in San Francisco and is responsible for the full recruiting lifecycle for lawyers, including summer associates, post-clerks, and lateral associates, while fostering strong partnerships with practice group leaders, senior management and our Professional Teams. This individual will also support some firmwide initiatives. The Legal Recruiting Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive Recruiting Excellence: Lead and manage key components of attorney recruiting for our San Francisco office, including candidate sourcing, on-campus recruiting, interviews, communications, and onboarding.
  • Build Partnerships: With Senior Legal Recruiting Manager and Talent Team leadership, collaborate with hiring partners, recruiting committees, and practice group leaders to develop and execute firmwide hiring strategies.
  • Shape the Summer Program: Oversee the San Francisco summer associate program, including training, assignments, evaluations, and events in alignment with firmwide program.
  • Collaborate Firmwide: Partner with Talent Team and senior leaders, share best practices, and deliver a seamless candidate experience.
  • Enhance Integration: In coordination with Talent Team and firmwide Professional Teams, ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new associates, setting them up for success within the firm.
  • Lead and Inspire: Oversee and mentor team members,, fostering their growth and development.
  • Budget and Metrics Tracking: Manage San Francisco recruiting budget and maintain ATS, analyze recruiting data to support firm reporting and benchmarking initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 4 years in recruitment or related roles, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion and impeccable judgement.
  • A creative, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset to solve challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adjust schedule and work additional hours as required during summer program and recruiting season.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ViDesktop preferred), Microsoft Office, and a willingness to master new tools.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $80,000 - $130,000 in San Francisco. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
