Overview

Responsibilities
  • The Legal Secretary is responsible for supporting the individual attorney(s) and/or paralegal(s) to whom assigned for day-to-day drafting, transcriptions, and revisions of legal documents via electronically or directly.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client and the attorney, with the ability to communicate accurately and professionally with clients.
  • Demonstrate strong proofreading, organizational, and detail-oriented skills; maintain confidentiality with regard to all client and firm matters.
  • Utilize strong secretarial skills, word processing, general office procedures, and filing techniques; concentrate on detail and manage a wide spectrum of individuals and tasks.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; a four-year college degree preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with document management software (iManage and/or FileSite), time entry programs (Elite Webview), and change-tracking programs (Change-Pro) preferred.
  • Knowledge of client relationship management software, particularly InterAction, strongly desired.
