We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.

The Role

T1 Energy is looking to hire a Legal & Policy Administrator to support our Chief Legal & Policy Officer and the broader Legal & Policy team. This is an operational and administrative role, not a substantive legal one, for someone who thrives on bringing order to a complex, fast-moving function and takes genuine pride in keeping senior leaders organized, efficient, and focused on the work that matters most.

The Legal & Policy team at T1 touches everything: commercial contracts, litigation, compliance, trade, regulatory, and government affairs. You'll be the person who makes sure it all stays organized, on track, and moving. If you've worked in a corporate legal department or law firm, know how to manage a demanding executive's calendar and a high-volume matter list at the same time, and handle sensitive information like it's second nature, this role was built for you.

What You'll Do
Legal & Department Administration
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Chief Legal & Policy Officer and the Legal & Policy team, including calendar management, scheduling, travel, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate meetings with business leaders, outside counsel, government officials, consultants, and policy advisors.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and distribute presentations, reports, meeting materials, and legal correspondence.
  • Manage document execution, signature coordination, notarization, routing, and distribution.
  • Maintain organized electronic files, legal records, and department documentation.
Legal Operations & Matter Management
  • Maintain matter lists, trackers, and deadline calendars across the department's full portfolio of legal and policy work.
  • Coordinate the opening, administration, and closing of matters involving outside counsel and external advisors.
  • Assist with engagement letters, invoices, purchase orders, and tracking of legal and professional services expenses against department budgets.
  • Help establish and maintain department processes, templates, shared folders, and knowledge management systems.
  • Monitor outstanding action items and proactively follow up to keep matters moving.
Commercial, Litigation & Compliance Support
  • Provide administrative support for commercial contracting; organize agreements, coordinate approvals, maintain executed contract records, and tracking open items.
  • Help coordinate contract requests between Legal and internal teams including Sales, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and HR.
  • Support litigation and dispute matters by coordinating communications, maintaining matter files, tracking deadlines and budgets, and assisting with document collection and organization.
  • Assist with compliance training administration, policy distribution, regulatory record keeping, and responses to audits and diligence requests.
Government Affairs & Policy Support
  • Support the company's federal and state government affairs, trade, and public policy activities by coordinating meetings, travel, and materials involving government officials, trade associations, and policy advisors.
  • Maintain calendars and trackers for legislative, regulatory, trade, and policy deadlines and filings.
  • Assist with preparation and organization of briefing materials, submissions, and supporting documentation for government and policy engagements.
Who You Are
  • Exceptionally organized: you manage multiple complex work streams simultaneously without losing track of a single deadline or open item.
  • Proactive and self-directed: you anticipate what needs to happen next rather than waiting to be told.
  • Discreet and trustworthy: you handle confidential, sensitive, and privileged information with professionalism and sound judgement.
  • A clear communicator who can interact effectively with senior executives, outside counsel, and government officials alike.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and the work is never the same twice.
  • Someone who takes pride in making the people around them more effective.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a corporate legal department, law firm, or executive support role.
  • Experience as a legal administrator, legal assistant, executive assistant, or corporate administrator strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with comfort learning new tools and workflow systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and privileged information with discretion.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: in-house legal departments, public companies, commercial contracts administration, litigation support, compliance or regulatory matters, government affairs or public policy, energy or manufacturing industries.
The T1 Way

We move fast, expect accountability, and treat people with respect. We also have a no-jerks policy: we don't tolerate big egos, bad behavior or "that's not my job attitude". Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and have a sense of humor, you'll fit right in.
