Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Legal Expert — Civil Litigator for deposition transcript review. This remote contract role requires a practicing U.S. civil litigator with 50+ depositions, JD, and ability to cite by page/line.

Immediate start for 20+ hours per week with strong emphasis on accuracy and end-to-end accountability. You will author reference answers, craft gold-standard responses, and perform related litigation tasks, using any AI tools strictly for navigation while maintaining independent

Qualifications

• Must have practical civil litigator experience with 50+ depositions.
• Expertise in commercial, contract, or personal injury litigation.
• Comfortable working from a long rough transcript and citing by page and line.
• J.D. and licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate a full rough deposition transcript of ~250 pages to author reference answers for AI model measurement.
• Write gold-standard answers to about 100 questions, citing support by page and line.
• Complete eight short litigation tasks derived from the same transcript.
• Prepare all gold answers independently, noting any AI tool usage only for navigation.
• Own every answer end to end to ensure consistent judgment across all questions and tasks.
