Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Newark, Delaware, is seeking an Associate in the Legal Entity Controller team to oversee accounting, controls, and reporting for the parent and intermediate holding company.

You will support monthly close, analyze results, and ensure intercompany activity is complete, accurate, and well-controlled. You will contribute to quarterly and annual external reporting and holding company regulatory reporting, working with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accurate work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong initiative, ownership mindset, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly legal entity close activities, including parent/subsidiary accounting and equity method accounting.
• Review intercompany balances and breaks, investigate variances, and drive timely resolution with partners.
• Monitor general ledger balances for unusual activity and support remediation.
• Prepare monthly analytical reviews to validate completeness and accuracy of legal entity financial statements.
• Produce recurring management and reporting packages with variance commentary and key drivers.
• Support quarterly and annual external reporting deliverables and holding company regulatory reporting.
• Contribute to holding company regulatory reporting through data preparation and documentation.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues; respond to ad hoc requests with conclusions.
• Partner with finance teams to align on priorities and deliverables.
• Participate in firmwide reporting initiatives and process improvements.
• Help maintain a strong control environment through documentation and controls execution.
