Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking an Associate in the Legal Entity Controller team to oversee accounting, controls, and reporting for the parent company and intermediate holding entities.

You will support monthly close activities, analyze financial results, and ensure intercompany activity is complete and well‑controlled. You will contribute to quarterly and annual external reporting and holding company regulatory reporting, working with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly legal entity close activities for parent/subsidiary accounting and equity method accounting.
• Review intercompany balances, investigate variances, and drive timely resolution with partners.
• Monitor general ledger balances for unusual activity and support remediation.
• Prepare monthly analytical reviews to validate completeness and accuracy of legal entity statements.
• Produce recurring management and reporting packages with variance commentary and key drivers.
• Support quarterly and annual external reporting deliverables and disclosures.
• Contribute to holding company regulatory reporting through data prep and documentation.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues; respond to ad hoc requests with clear conclusions.
• Partner with line‑of‑business finance teams to align on priorities and deliverables.
• Participate in firmwide legal entity reporting initiatives and process improvements.
• Maintain a strong control environment through documentation and controls execution.

• Support quarterly and annual external reporting deliverables, including required disclosures and supporting schedules
• Contribute to holding company regulatory reporting through data preparation, review, and documentation
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues; respond to ad hoc requests with clear, well-supported conclusions
• Partner with line-of-business finance teams and the broader controllership community to align on priorities and deliverables
• Participate in firmwide legal entity reporting initiatives, including process and infrastructure improvements

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• Strong accounting and analytical skills, with the ability to explain income statement and balance sheet movements
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, well-controlled work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex topics clearly
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence outcomes with stakeholders
• Strong initiative, ownership mindset, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification (or progress toward certification)
• Experience supporting legal entity accounting, intercompany accounting, or corporate controllership functions
• Familiarity with external reporting processes (quarterly/annual reports) and related controls
• Exposure to holding company regulatory reporting and governance expectations
• Experience driving process improvements, automation, or control enhancements in finance
• Experience working in a large, complex financial services organization
• Ability to create clear, executive-ready materials (narrative + visuals) for senior stakeholders
