Job summary

Fred Loya Insurance Agency seeks a Staff Attorney in California to represent clients in civil defense matters and draft essential legal documents. You will manage litigation files from inception through trial, prepare pleadings and discovery, and provide informed file analysis.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of civil litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Minimum 1 year of civil litigation experience, preferably insurance defense.
• Strong research and writing skills and work ethic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Staff Attorney to become a part of our team! You will represent clients in civil legal proceedings, draw up legal documents, and advise clients on legal transactions related to civil defense litigation.

General Duties:

• Handle and manage litigation files from inception through trial, with reduced caseload in order to manage the office. If you do not have any trial experience, we will provide training and guidance to the right candidate.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, motions, demands and responses
• Draft reports and provide file analysis
• Handle litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established for Staff Counsel for Fred Loya Insurance Agency, Inc., and the Loya Insurance Group
