Job summary

Fred Loya Insurance Agency seeks a Staff Attorney to represent clients in civil defense matters, draft pleadings, and advise on transactions related to civil litigation.

You will handle litigation from filing through trial and manage a reduced caseload with the Staff Counsel team. CA Bar in good standing and at least 1 year of civil litigation experience are required; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in California and in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year civil litigation experience, preferably insurance defense litigation.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Staff Attorney to become a part of our team! You will represent clients in civil legal proceedings, draw up legal documents, and advise clients on legal transactions related to civil defense litigation.

General Duties:

• Handle and manage litigation files from inception through trial, with reduced caseload in order to manage the office. If you do not have any trial experience, we will provide training and guidance to the right candidate.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, motions, demands and responses
• Draft reports and provide file analysis
• Handle litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established for Staff Counsel for Fred Loya Insurance Agency, Inc., and the Loya Insurance Group
