Join to apply for the Legal Counsel - Associate Director role at WTW.

We are seeking a contract lawyer to join the WTW legal team. The candidate will provide general contracting support to the WTW Global Contracting Team, with an emphasis on contracting within the Benefits Delivery and Outsourcing businesses. The role involves working closely with stakeholders in the contracting process, including members of the WTW business team, other lawyers in the Global Contracting Team, and the Benefits Delivery & Outsourcing (BD&O) legal group. The role reports to the Assistant General Counsel for BD&O.

The candidate must be comfortable working independently and directly with cross-functional internal business teams and external parties to handle commercial contracts and other corporate and commercial matters. The candidate should provide effective advice and counseling in a solutions-oriented, commercial-friendly manner. Preference is for candidates to work in a hybrid remote-office environment in Arlington, VA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; or Nashville, TN. Exceptional candidates in other US locations may be considered for remote work.

The Role

• Draft, review, and negotiate various contract types, including services agreements, insurance agreements, benefits administration agreements, business associate agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, and vendor agreements.
• Assess potential legal risks, benefits, and consequences of decisions; present alternatives and propose solutions to meet business objectives while managing legal and practical considerations.
• Provide daily contract support, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and meet contract targets and deadlines efficiently.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients.
• Assist with preparing proposals (e.g., RFP responses) for prospective clients.
• Escalate issues to management as necessary.
