Job summary

Based in Boston, applike group’s international Legal team is seeking a licensed US attorney to lead legal support for the Americas. You will draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, advise on privacy and IP, and partner with European teams on cross‑border deals.

You will build applike’s and adjoe’s US‑AMER legal presence, collaborate with the General Counsel in Hamburg, and report to the Legal leadership.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school and admitted to practice in at least one US state; Massachusetts admission is a plus.
• At least 5 years of legal experience at a law firm and/or in‑house, ideally in tech, adtech, mobile apps or SaaS.
• Strong commercial contracting skills with a track record of negotiating deals.
• Solid working knowledge of US privacy law; LATAM or GDPR exposure is a plus.
• Good understanding of IP, especially software licensing, trademarks and open source.
• Experience with advertising, consumer protection or marketing law is a strong plus.
• Experience with LATAM counterparts or local counsel is a plus.
• Enjoys working in a growing, international legal team across time zones.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Spanish/Portuguese a plus; German nice‑to‑have.

Responsibilities

• Be the go‑to legal contact for the Americas within the international Legal team, supporting adjoe’s business in the US, Canada and LATAM.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including advertiser/publisher agreements, NDAs and vendor contracts.
• Support negotiations with regional partners from redline to signature, balancing commercial goals with legal risk.
• Advise on privacy and data protection across the Americas, including US state laws and LATAM frameworks; draft DPAs and assess GDPR interactions.
• Advise on advertising and consumer protection law relevant to adtech and mobile apps.
• Handle corporate governance for adjoe Inc. and applike group such as filings and registered agent duties.
• Manage disputes, pre‑litigation matters and regulatory inquiries across the region.
• Track legal changes across the Americas and translate into practical business guidance.
• Be an active member of the global Legal Team and support HQ topics as needed.

Job description

You’ll be based in our Boston office as part of applike group’s international Legal team, led by our General Counsel in Hamburg. You’ll be the team’s go-to person for the Americas, handling the region’s legal matters day to day, working closely with colleagues in Europe on shared standards, templates and cross-border deals.

This is a rare chance to build applike’s and adjoe’s legal presence in the Americas from the ground up, side by side with the General Counsel. You’ll shape how we contract, negotiate and manage risk across the US, Canada and Latin America. You’ll also be the go-to legal partner for our fast-growing Americas business and partner closely with their commercial leadership team (i.e., VP Revenue and Managing Director GTM).

What you will do:

• Be the go-to legal contact for the Americas within our international Legal team. You’ll support adjoe’s business in the US, Canada and LATAM in close collaboration with the General Counsel, the legal team in Europe and the Americas commercial team.

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements. These include advertiser and publisher agreements, insertion orders, SDK and license agreements, partnership, reseller and service agreements, vendor contracts and NDAs.

• Support negotiations with partners across the region, from first redline to signature. Balance commercial goals against legal risk, and know when to elevate.

• Advise on privacy and data protection across the Americas, including CCPA/CPRA and other US state privacy laws, COPPA, and LATAM frameworks such as Brazil’s LGPD. Draft and negotiate DPAs, and advise on how these rules interact with GDPR when data flows to the EU.

• Advise on advertising and consumer protection law relevant to adtech and mobile apps. This covers FTC rules on disclosures and endorsements, rewards and incentive mechanics, and app store and platform policies.

• Handle corporate governance and housekeeping for adjoe Inc. as well as applike group, including resolutions, annual filings, state registrations and the registered agent.

• Manage disputes, pre‑litigation matters and regulatory inquiries across the region.

• Track legal and regulatory changes across the Americas and turn them into practical guidance for the business.

• Become an active member of our emerging global Legal Team and support other legal (Headquarter) topics as needed.

Who you are:

• You hold a JD from an ABA‑accredited law school and are admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one US state. Massachusetts admission is a plus.

• You have at least 5 years of legal experience at a law firm and/or in‑house, ideally in tech, adtech, mobile apps or SaaS.

• You have strong commercial contracting skills and a real track record of negotiating deals successfully.

• You have solid working knowledge of US privacy law. Exposure to LATAM or GDPR frameworks is a plus.

• You have a good understanding of IP, particularly software licensing, trademarks and open source.

• Experience with advertising, consumer protection or marketing law is a strong plus.

• Experience working with LATAM counterparts or local counsel is a plus.

• You enjoy being part of a growing yet lean, international legal team. You’re comfortable working across time zones with a manager and colleagues based in Germany, and you like the breadth of a generalist role.

• You give pragmatic, business‑oriented advice and can explain complex issues clearly to non‑lawyers.

• You’re proactive and organized, and you thrive in a fast‑paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.

• You have excellent written and spoken English. Spanish and/or Portuguese is a strong plus, and German is a nice‑to‑have.
