We're looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team at PHC Americas. In this role, you'll work closely with the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer to provide timely, practical legal support across a wide range of business areas. You'll handle everything from commercial contracts to regulatory compliance, collaborating with teams across the organization. Location: Remote - USA
What you will be doing:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders within the company and worldwide Legal and Compliance Department to understand and support legal needs in a proactive manner.
- Support the company's contracting needs, including distribution channel partners, vendors, and customers.
- Draft corporate documents and resolutions supporting our US companies;
- Keep up to date on new laws, regulations and industry trends affecting life science companies operating in the US.
- Provide legal guidance with respect to promotional materials for company products, including medical devices cleared by the FDA.
- Support of the HR team on employment law matters.
- Support of internal investigations and other compliance functions.
- Educating our business teams on company policies in order to maintain a culture of compliance.
Skills you will need:
- Admission to a state bar.
- 3+ years experience at a life science company, or directly involved in the representation of life science industry clients.
- Knowledge of medical device industry laws, guidelines and codes.
- The ability to prioritize, plan, and organize heavy workloads, while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player in a matrix organization.
- Ability to: understand, explain, and apply policies, processes, and procedures; evaluate complex situations; and resolve issues with minimum supervision.
- Excellent analytical skills and communication skills (both verbal and written), with a high level of attention to detail.
- Adept at answering questions and providing guidance to internal stakeholders from different countries.
- Knowledge and experience involving medical devices is preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA and FTC regulations is preferred, but not required.
Compensation: Base target - $86,250 - $120,000 USD based on experience
