Job summary

JW Michaels & Co. seeks a Legal and Compliance Manager in San Francisco to coordinate legal, governance, regulatory compliance, and investment activities.

You will supervise fund governance, manage investment-related processes, and drive AML and fund registration tasks while collaborating with Investor Relations and external vendors. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 6+ years in finance, familiarity with private funds, and experience with contract management and data rooms.

Qualifications

• Familiar with private investment funds, their governance and regulatory framework.
• Experience negotiating, summarizing, and organizing commercial contracts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience using virtual data rooms or legal agreement management tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise legal and governance activities related to the Company’s funds.
• Manage the legal process and tracking of all investment-related activities for the full life cycle of an investment.
• Lead fund registration and maintenance tasks, AML requirements, and investor-request processes.
• Support the external compliance team and coordinate with external vendors.
