• Current law student (JD/LLM) or paralegal student; recent graduates considered.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Interest in startups and AI; familiarity with corporate law, contracts, and data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) is a plus.
• Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity.

• Draft platform and user agreements — Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, NDAs, indemnification and data-handling agreements.
• Support the construction of the company’s legal entity and asset-holding structure, including IP holding.
• Identify and analyze legal and regulatory risk across the company and the platform.
• Develop risk-mitigation strategies and internal policies to reduce litigation exposure.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Legal & Compliance Intern to support the founders and outside counsel across corporate matters, contracts, data privacy, and the regulatory questions that come with operating at the intersection of AI and social networking. This is a high-ownership role for hands-on startup legal experience — with the opportunity to join the team full-time, a path toward owning compliance workstreams as the company grows.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Draft platform and user agreements — Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, NDAs, indemnification and data-handling agreements.
• Support the construction of the company’s legal entity and asset-holding structure, including IP holding.
• Identify and analyze legal and regulatory risk across the company and the platform.
• Develop risk-mitigation strategies and internal policies to reduce litigation exposure.
• Research regulations affecting AI, social networking, and online marketplace platforms.
• Evaluate and help secure insurance coverage — general liability, cyber / data, and D&O.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A current law student (JD / LLM) or paralegal student, or a recent graduate; strong candidates from related programs are also considered.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills, with sharp attention to detail.
• Genuine interest in startups and AI; familiarity with corporate law, contracts, and data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) is a plus.
• Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity.

LOGISTICS

• New York / remote-friendly.
• Part-time or full-time; semester or summer term.
• Reports to the co-founders, in coordination with outside counsel.
