Position Summary

This is an entry-level clerical legal position supporting the Office of Judicial Records. Responsibilities include processing legal documents, abstracting information, and maintaining court records under supervision. The role involves working with legal documents where accuracy is crucial, following established procedures, and learning legal processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Examining legal instruments to determine information for docket posting.
  • Filing legal documents in CPCMS and recording relevant details.
  • Abstracting and summarizing legal documents for docket entries.
  • Processing documents and motions through E-Filing systems.
  • Searching dockets and responding to inquiries about court documents.
  • Verifying and certifying legal documents, distributing documents, and ensuring proper procedures are followed.

Additional duties:

  • Answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and providing general information.
  • Maintaining office supplies and performing other assigned tasks.

Environmental Conditions: Standard courtroom and office settings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years of clerical experience in legal settings preferred.
  • Ability to learn legal procedures, recognize legal documents, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Equivalent training and experience may be considered.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and interview process.
