Job summary

CHOI LAW FIRM in Fort Lee, NJ, seeks an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal (5+ years) to support family law matters, trusts & estates, and commercial litigation. You will manage filings, document prep, and case files while maintaining client communication with discretion and accuracy.

Join a high-performance team with deadlines; you will use Clio or LEAP for case management, coordinate calendars, and assist attorneys from intake through resolution in a collaborative, in-person environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
  • Strong background in Family Law and/or Trusts & Estates preferred.
  • Proficiency with case management systems like Clio or LEAP.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and file legal documents for family law matters.
  • Maintain and organize case files (digital and physical).
  • Conduct legal and factual research to support case strategy.
  • Provide end-to-end attorney support from client intake through resolution.
  • Manage calendars, scheduling, and internal processes.

Join a Growing, High-Performance Legal Team

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Legal Assistant / Paralegal with 5+ years of experience to join our dynamic and expanding law firm. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys licensed in both New Jersey and New York, with a primary focus on Family Law and exposure to Trusts & Estates (Planning and Litigation), and Commercial Litigation.

The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where precision, discretion, and client service are paramount. You will play a key role in supporting attorneys, managing cases, and contributing to the firm’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
Document Preparation & Filing
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents for matrimonial and family law matters
  • Ensure accuracy, proper formatting, and strict compliance with court rules and deadlines
Case Management
  • Maintain and organize case files (digital and physical)
  • Assist with discovery, document production, and evidence management
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely progression of all matters
Legal Research
  • Conduct legal and factual research to support case strategy and preparation
Attorney Support
  • Provide end-to-end support from client intake through resolution
  • Anticipate attorney needs and proactively manage workflows
Office & Systems Coordination
  • Manage calendars, scheduling, and internal processes
  • Utilize and help optimize case management systems (e.g., Clio, LEAP)
Client Interaction
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for clients
  • Prepare and update intake forms and maintain clear, timely communication
Qualifications
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal
  • Strong background in Family Law and/or Trusts & Estates preferred
