Summary

Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, in multiple locations.

Duties

As a Legal Assistant (OA), at the GS-7 full performance level, you will perform duties such as:

  • Researching, analyzing, and compiling documentation for court proceedings.
  • Updating databases for case information.
  • Supporting functions like managing court dockets and preparing motions.
  • Drafting memorandums and correspondence.
  • Preparing mailing packages and managing files.

Work involves long periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.

Qualifications

GS-05 qualification: 1 year of specialized experience at GS-04 level or education equivalent.
