Job description

At Winthrop, we never settle. Through a collaborative and innovative approach, we rethink what’s possible and solve problems to generate momentum for our clients.

We are committed to building a diverse workforce of talented individuals who embody our mission to bring smart perspectives and practical outcomes to the law. At our core, we believe diversity and inclusion are table stakes and work each day to promote these values through a variety of initiatives, activities and organizations.

Join our nimble force and put the law to work.

Attorneys

Your practice is your business. At Winthrop, we’re cultivating a team of forward-thinking, innovative lawyers who solve problems and generate results for our clients. We’re not your typical law firm. We consistently look for ways to push the boundaries of the law and make it work harder for our clients. We are always interested in bringing on forward-thinkers who will help us in this mission to supplement growing practice areas or add areas of experience.

We believe in creating an environment that fosters development, success and long-term enjoyment of practicing law, while allowing you to assume responsibility and pursue your professional interests. Our office atmosphere is collegial, where attorneys and staff truly enjoy working together to serve our clients’ needs. As a reward for hard work and an enterprising spirit, we offer associates a unique opportunity for early shareholder status and additional compensation. We also sponsor regular formal and informal social and recreational firm-wide activities throughout the year.

Associate Compensation

Our associate compensation system is designed to attract and recruit the top law students throughout the United States and reward those whose productivity contributes to the growth and profitability of the firm. This includes not only a market rate compensation and bonus structure, but also opportunities to participate in activities traditionally reserved for shareholders and to attain early shareholder status.

Summer Associate Program

The Summer Associate program is designed to provide an experience that reflects life at the firm as a lawyer. It is offered to law students after their first or second year, and presents a challenging variety of legal work.

As a summer associate, you’ll prepare agreements, briefs, interrogatories, and other legal documents and be encouraged to attend client meetings, depositions, court hearings, negotiations and closings. You’ll be assigned a mentor who helps you with administrative, professional and personal questions. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with a number of different attorneys throughout the summer.

You’ll work in different areas of practice throughout your experience, and rather than a formal rotation program, you’ll have significant exposure to a particular practice area, if you so desire.

Almost every summer associate who has received an offer to join the firm has accepted it.

Professional Staff

Our goal at Winthrop is to provide quality service to clients on a daily basis, while mutually supporting the career goals and objectives of our attorneys and staff.

Every member of the team has a role that contributes to our operation and success. We offer career opportunities in the following areas:

  • Accounting
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • Legal Assistant
  • Marketing/Business Development
  • Paralegal
  • Word Processing

We are an equal employment opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
