Job summary

Community Law Group, PLLC seeks an Immigration Legal Assistant - Supernumerary to support immigration attorneys and assist clients across Tennessee. The role emphasizes organization, multi-tasking, client communication, and teamwork within a mission-driven firm.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in immigration law, strong Spanish-English skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; CampLegal experience is a plus. Growth and supportive culture offered in Nashville and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Immigration Law, including experience with USCIS and EOIR.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, research, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and online technology; CampLegal experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, particularly non-native English speakers.
  • Strong integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Genuine commitment to serving immigrant communities and supporting individuals through the immigration process.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in immigrant rights, social justice, or human rights is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Client communication & support – Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person, providing timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance.
  • Immigration case preparation – Assist with the preparation of immigration applications, petitions, motions, legal forms, correspondence, and other case documents.
  • Case & file management – Organize and maintain accurate case files, evidence, records, and information while meeting deadlines.
  • Filing & legal research – Handle filings, conduct basic legal research, and assist attorneys with USCIS matters.
  • Team & case coordination – Support attorneys and paralegals, provide case updates, maintain confidentiality, and communicate important developments to managers and team members.

Primary Responsibilities

Client Communication & Support – Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person, providing timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance.

Immigration Case Preparation – Assist with the preparation of immigration applications, petitions, motions, legal forms, correspondence, and other case documents.

Case & File Management – Organize and maintain accurate physical and digital case files, evidence, records, and case information while meeting deadlines.

Filing & Legal Research – Handle paper and electronic filings, conduct basic legal research, and assist attorneys with case preparation and USCIS matters.

Team & Case Coordination – Support attorneys and paralegals, provide case updates, maintain confidentiality, and communicate important case developments to managers and team members

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Immigration Law, including experience with USCIS and EOIR.
