Job summary

Encore Capital Group is seeking a Legal Assistant II to provide general support to the in‑house attorneys and legal team. The role includes assisting in managing litigation and regulatory matters, supporting compliance processes, and processing regulatory complaints.

The position reports to Corporate Counsel and collaborates with outside attorneys and paralegals. Training for junior staff is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• MS Office proficiency required.
• Experience supporting legal or paralegal teams is preferred.
• Understanding of FDCPA/FCRA/CFPB regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Review pleadings and legal documents; draft pleadings, settlements, dismissals and memos for attorney review.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and Midland employees to gather information and resolve matters.
• Organize and maintain legal department files and records; assist with projects as needed.
• Provide training to Legal Assistant I and support the legal team on regulatory matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
