Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including contracts, correspondence, pleadings, and reports.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and court dates, and coordinate travel arrangements as needed.
  • Organize, maintain, and update files (physical and electronic), ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct basic legal research and gather information relevant to cases, transactions, or regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, court personnel, external counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • File documents with courts and regulatory agencies, following all applicable procedures and deadlines.
  • Assist with billing and time-entry processes for attorneys.
  • Support preparation of legal matters by organizing materials, compiling exhibits, and preparing binders or presentations.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing mail, maintaining office supplies, and processing invoices.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with legal procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Job Description Summary:

The Legal Assistant provides administrative and legal support to the legal department under the general supervision of the General Counsel. This role focuses on maintaining regulatory compliance, managing documentation, coordinating schedules, handling correspondence, and assisting with legal matters to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively.
