Job Title: Legal and Compliance Associate
1 to 2 years (in a law firm or in-house)
Qualifications: Qualified Lawyer / Solicitor
Location: REMOTE
About the Role:
We are looking for a Legal and Compliance Associate with 1–2 years of corporate legal experience to support our in-house Legal & Compliance function. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow in a fast-paced, business-oriented legal team. The ideal candidate will focus on contract review, general corporate legal support, and internal compliance, with less/ limited involvement in litigation or real estate law.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Contracts & Commercial Legal Support
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and corporate agreements, including:
Master Service Agreements
Statements of Work
Vendor and supplier agreements
Non-Disclosure Agreements
Consulting and engagement letters
Provide proactive legal advice to business teams on contract terms and potential risks.
Support the legal team in standardizing contract templates and maintaining the contract
repository.
Corporate Compliance & Risk Mitigation
Monitor compliance with internal corporate policies and applicable laws and regulations (e.g., data privacy, anti-bribery, corporate governance).
Assist in developing and maintaining internal compliance programs, training, and communications.
Support internal audits and respond to regulatory or internal inquiries in collaboration with the compliance lead.
Governance & Documentation
Assist with maintaining corporate records, subsidiary documentation, and internal governance materials.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel on filings, corporate disclosures, and entity management tasks.
Internal Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner cross-functionally with departments like Finance, HR, Procurement, and IT to address legal needs.
Help ensure internal processes are aligned with legal and regulatory expectations.
Track and report on key legal and compliance metrics or issues.
What We’re Looking For:
1–2 years of experience at a corporate law firm or as in-house counsel with a focus on commercial or corporate law.
Strong drafting, redlining, and negotiation skills.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication, with a collaborative working style.
Familiarity with U.S. regulatory frameworks (e.g., data privacy, compliance training, internal policies)
Nice to Have:
Prior experience with contract management systems or legal technology tools.
Interest in working in a growing, entrepreneurial business environment.
Willingness to take on cross-functional legal projects and support broader team initiatives
