Contracts Associate (Remote)
Location: San Rafael, CA.
6 Month Assignment
Pay Rate: $30/hr.
On behalf of our client a leading pharmaceutical company specializing in therapeutics for patients with life threatening rare genetic diseases. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Contracts Associate to support the Legal Department and internal stakeholders by drafting, negotiating, and managing a high volume of contracts. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, contract-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Draft a wide range of contracts, primarily using templates including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Amendments, Scopes of Work (SOWs), and Change Orders.
· Research existing and prior contractual relationships with external parties.
· Utilize contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools (e.g., ARIBA, Icertis) to draft, process, and track contracts through execution.
· Use playbooks and established guidelines to support contract negotiation.
· Monitor and manage contract workflows, ensuring timely processing from draft to final signature.
· Ensure organizational compliance with contracting policies and procedures.
· Act as a liaison among internal departments, legal counsel, and external vendors to facilitate contract completion.
· Coordinate contract-related activities across legal and operational departments.
· Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the Legal Department.
Education and Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree (BA or equivalent) required and 2–4 years of experience in contracts administration or a related legal support role.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document/database management systems.
· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
· Experience within a large law firm or in-house legal team at a public company.
· Industry experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or other contract-intensive sectors.
· Familiarity with SAP, ARIBA, and Icertis is a strong plus.
