Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant

Job Type: Full-time, On-Site

About Us:

Hackman Hulett LLP is an Indianapolis-based law firm with locations in Zionsville as well as downtown.

Position Overview:

Hackman Hulett is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with a hands-on, positive “can-do” approach and a desire to think creatively to identify and implement proactive solutions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, excellent organization and communication skills, proficient proofreading skills, and the ability to initiate and anticipate.

Experience in the following practice areas is preferred: probate, estate planning, and business transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and maintaining pleadings, reports, files, and routine correspondence
  • Filing documents with the court
  • Preparing discovery and trial exhibits
  • Providing support to multiple professionals while demonstrating sound judgment, intelligence, flexibility, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Planning and coordinating logistics for meetings, depositions, and conference calls
  • Scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, answering telephones, interacting with clients, and taking messages
  • Anticipating and meeting attorney needs for meetings and depositions, including willingness to drive between the Indianapolis and Zionsville offices when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of business school or a related legal secretarial degree is preferred
  • Minimum of two years of legal-related clerical experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with state and federal e-filing systems
  • Familiarity with time entry and dictation a plus
