We are seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) with real estate development experience to join our Washington DC office.

The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, eager to learn and grow professionally, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and understands the cycle of a real estate transaction. The selected individual will work within a team of LAAs to liaison between attorneys, project assistants, paralegals and clients. This position is hybrid and offers a work schedule of 3 days a week in the office after a probationary period.

Your Role

As a Legal Administrative Assistant within our Real Estate Department your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing overall legal administrative support, including extensive document editing and finalization.
  • Supporting mixed use, condominium and multifamily development deals.
  • Assisting zoning and land use lawyers on complex entitlement and permitting projects.
  • Ensuring fee earners' daily time entries are drafted in accordance with firm and client guidelines; and entering information into firm systems in a timely fashion.
  • Preparing new business intake forms and open new client matters.
  • Preparing and submitting expenses and processing invoices.
  • Maintaining schedules and calendars, making travel arrangements, updating contacts, and do other work as needed.

Required Experience

2-3 years of real estate experience with a law firm or other related entity. Intermediate level skills working with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems. Must be able to work overtime, when needed.

Additional benefits provided are health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, and a health savings account; paid parental leave, firm subsidized emergency child and elder care services; family and medical leave; employee assistance program; and a pre-tax transportation program. Time worked in excess of 40 hours per week will be paid at time and one half of the hourly rate. The salary range for this position is from $75,000 to $90,000 depending upon experience and location.
