Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is hiring a Network & Communications Technician for the Leeville Underground Complex. You will install and maintain underground and surface networks, including fiber optic systems, Cisco Wi‑Fi/switches, leaky feeder, 2‑way radios, Mobilaris tracking, backup power, and network cameras, with strong safety practices.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of network and communication repair, installation, and troubleshooting of complex underground systems.
• Formal education in network and/or 2-way radio (preferred).
• A dedication to teamwork and safety in a mining environment.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new skills for repairing and maintaining mining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installation & Repair: install/maintain underground and surface networks and comms equipment (fiber, Wi‑Fi, leaky feeder, radios, Mobilaris, cameras).
• Project Support: assist in developing and executing projects to enhance mine plans.
• Team Collaboration: work in a safety-focused, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Installation & Repair: You will handle installation/maintenance duties for underground and surface networks and communications equipment, including fiber optic networks, Cisco Wi-Fi/switches, leaky feeder, 2-way radios, Mobilaris tracking system, back-up battery systems, network cameras as well as CAT Command autonomous loader areas.
• Project Support: Assist in developing and executing projects to enhance both short- and long-term mine plans.
• Team Collaboration: Work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, maintaining a focus on safety, communication, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Skills: Strong knowledge of network and communication repair, installation, and troubleshooting of complex underground systems.
• Education: Formal education in network and/or 2-way radio (preferred).
• Teamwork & Safety: A dedication to working within a team environment and maintaining a strong safety record is essential.
• Desire to Learn: You should be eager to learn and apply new skills for repairing and maintaining mining equipment.
