The Department of Technology, Design, and Technical Education in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University (USU) offers a non-tenure track faculty position as a Lecturer, or Professional Practice Assistant Professor, in Information Technology and Cybersecurity. As part of USU's land grant mission to make academic programs accessible throughout the state, this position will be physically located at the USU Eastern Campus in Price, Utah.

This position begins in the Spring Semester (January) of 2025 (or until filled). This is a full-time academic-year appointment (nine-month academic year with possible summer teaching) located at the USU Eastern Campus. This position involves 90% teaching and advising duties and 10% service and professional engagement. This is a new position and programmatic initiative. Continued appointments will be based upon successful program initiation and ongoing student support. The review of applications will begin on December 1, 2025, and continue until the position is filled.

The Technology, Design, and Technical Education Department offers undergraduate programs (certificate-level, AAS, AS, and BS degrees) that focus on developing students' knowledge and capabilities through hands-on experiences in the classroom. Majors in the department include the various Associate of Applied Science programs to align with technical certificates, as well as the bachelor's degree programs in Engineering Technology, Outdoor Product Design and Development, and Technology Systems, including an emphasis in Information and Computer Technology. These degrees provide a stackable pathway that can begin in the secondary school system, to the Utah Technical Colleges, to associate level work with Utah State University, and to the BS in Technology Systems. This pathway provides students with marketable skills and experiences that prepare them for successful careers with multiple completion points along their academic path. The successful candidate will teach courses in support of all of these programs but will be significantly involved in the Information Technology and Cybersecurity content area.
