Job Summary The Department of Modern Languages at the University of North Georgia invites applicants for a Full-time Lectureship (with benefits) in Arabic, primarily on its Dahlonega campus.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in Arabic language and literature, with a minimum course load of 24 credit hours per academic year.
- The ability to successfully incorporate technology at all levels of instruction is highly desirable.
- Teaching assignments may extend to other campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Master's degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Linguistics, Arabic Language pedagogy, Arabic Literature, or a closely related field in hand by August 2025
- Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic and English
- Excellent record of prior teaching experience at a U.S. institution, preferably in teaching Arabic as a foreign language
- A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and the enhancement of the Arabic program
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a multi-language environment; to organize cultural activities for students both in and outside of the classroom; to offer evening or on-line classes, and to coordinate or teach in intensive immersion courses and programs, including Summer Language Institutes
- Experience with proficiency-oriented instruction
