Job Summary

The College of Education at Fayetteville State University invites applications for a Full‑Time Fixed Term Faculty position in the Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Grades, Reading, and Special Education Department. The incumbent will teach undergraduate courses, evaluate student learning, and participate in departmental activities and committees as prescribed by the Dean and the Department Chair.

The incumbent will also be expected to maintain academic standards, demonstrate knowledge and use of educational technology, digital/virtual/online teaching, exhibit scholarly activity, and commit to public higher education.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Master’s in Education or Special Education, or a related field; licensure in Special Education is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of successful teaching in public schools or teaching in Special Education with an appropriate license is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Commitment to excellent writing, research, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills; ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across and within units; ability to teach and advise; and ability to foster diversity and effective assessment.
  • Collaboration with colleagues in the school, university, and region; knowledge of Common Core Standards and implications; use of educational technology and digital teaching; scholarly activity; and commitment to public higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public school teaching experience and licensed teacher status; experience in scholarly activities, action research, conference presentations, in‑service workshops, and education‑related community services; familiarity with national accreditation processes.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Contribution to diversity and academic excellence through research, teaching, and service.
