Overview

Lecturer - English (pool) at University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). This posting is to create a pool of applicants for future temporary, non-tenure track appointments in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester. The position may involve teaching on-campus, online, or in a hybrid format.

Note: The University will not sponsor work visas or permanent resident applications for this position.

Salary/Pay Range: $1,045 per credit hour. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from overtime under the FLSA. Because this appointment is temporary, you will not be eligible for all benefits normally provided to faculty under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. Sick leave accrual is 0.034 hours per hour worked.

Work Location: On-campus, online, or hybrid, with remote teaching opportunities under certain conditions.

Responsibilities

The LAS at UCCS will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in English to fill future temporary, non-tenure track positions. Appointments are part-time and made semester-by-semester. The position includes teaching various English courses; exact courses depend on departmental need and may be offered in-person or online. This posting is to create a pool of qualified individuals to be contacted as needed to teach classes.

• Teach English courses as needed, with modality determined by course and department requirements.
• Represent the department in accordance with university policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in English or a related field, or significant field experience documented by a Letter of Expertise submitted to HR (written by the chair of the department in which the lecturer will teach).
