The Department of Communication seeks two (2) Lecturers to teachundergraduate courses in Mass Communication, Broadcast Journalismand/or Professional Media Writing. The positions emphasizeeffective teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship ofstudents preparing for careers in public relations, multimediajournalism, video and audio production, and other relatedcommunication fields. Additionally, the faculty may teach in theCORE. These non-tenure track faculty positions, based in theDepartment of Communication, are 10-month academic year positions.These are full-time positions beginning August 2027, with thepossibility of promotion to Senior Lecturer.

Faculty - Teaching/Instructing-

Teaching Responsibilities

All Georgia College& State University faculty share the responsibility of teachingour core curriculum and providing foundation courses for majors andnon-majors alike. Educational Requirements

A Ph.D. or terminal degree in the discipline or closely relatedfield at the time of appointment is expected.

Other Required Qualifications

Candidates should have significant experience in journalism, with ademonstrated ability to produce high-quality news content acrossvarious media platforms (print, digital, broadcast, or audio). Thisincludes a solid foundation in news writing, editing, andmultimedia storytelling, along with practical knowledge ofjournalistic ethics and practices.
