Overview

The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks qualified applicants for the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education to teach and provide content expertise for programs in curriculum and instruction. Opportunities are available on-grounds at the University of Virginia and online during summer 2025 and the 2025-26 academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and provide content expertise for programs in curriculum and instruction.
  • Positions will be filled on an on-going basis according to curriculum needs and appointments are typically for teaching a single course.
  • This is an at-will faculty wage position which does not carry benefits.
  • The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. This position will require an Education Verification.
  • The department will not sponsor visas for this position.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Education or Doctorate in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction or a related field.
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Previous preK-12 or post-secondary education teaching experience in the course content area is strongly preferred.
