Job summary

The University of Central Florida in Orlando seeks a 9-month, non-tenure earning lecturer in the Counselor Education Program to begin Fall 2027. The position focuses on graduate teaching, student advising, and supervision of practicum and internship.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teaching ability, supervision skills, and interpersonal communication, with adherence to CACREP standards and active service within the department and university. Summer teaching may be available.

Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in Counselor Education or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Identifiable potential for excellence in teaching, service, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a 4/4 course load during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Teach graduate courses, supervise practicum and/or internship activities, and assist with planning program activities.
  • Adhere to current CACREP Professional Standards.
  • Participate in service and leadership activities at the department, university, and professional organization level.
  • Maintain availability for students through regular office hours and timely, professional communication.

The Opportunity

The Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking applications for a 9-month, non-tenure earning lecturer position in the Counselor Education Program, anticipated to begin Fall 2027. This position is located on the Orlando campus and summer teaching may be available.

The selected candidate will contribute to the Counselor Education Program's mission by teaching a variety of graduate level courses, advising students, and supervising practicum and internship students. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with strong teaching, supervision, and interpersonal skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teach a 4/4 course load during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Teach graduate courses, supervise practicum and/or internship activities, andassistwith planning program activities.
  • Adhere to current CACREP Professional Standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Earned a doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited program.
  • Experience in graduate teaching and clinical supervision.

The selected candidate will be required to submit official transcripts (and, as applicable, U.S. degree equivalency evaluations) documenting the conferral of their qualifying academic credentials.
