BUS 300 - Professional Business Development (Fall 2026) -Temecula Site

The College of Business Administration at California StateUniversity San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 toteach Business 300 at our Temecula Mount San Jacinto College site:Business Professional Development, one of our Signature Programs.This required 2-unit course enhances students' professional skillsby teaching interactive lessons pertaining to career exploration,soft skill development (i.e., employability skills), and job searchstrategies.

This position requires facilitation skills that aim to increase ourstudents' career confidence. The candidate should be professionallyengaged for at least the past 8 years and have knowledge ofindustry trends for career development practices. Please note thatsuccessful applicants will be responsible for their own parkingaccounts for this location.

This course is unlike other career development courses in that weincorporate executive coaching into the classroom requirements.Executive in Residences (EIR) Coaches work alongside instructors toensure that students meet the required coaching requirements andself-reflective assignments. Recognizing that EIR Coaches arevolunteers, candidates should be able to foster a team environmentwith assigned coaches and ensure timely and frequentcommunication.

Minimum qualifications:
  • A master's degree in business or related discipline
  • Active current industry experience in business, management andrecruiting, and/or career development experience
  • Ability to facilitate large group discussions and/or experiencein teaching or conducting workshops
  • Proficiency in using technology including but not limited tovideo conferencing (e.g., Zoom, Teams), Microsoft Office (PPT),LinkedIn
  • Willingness to adapt and be engaged in continuous learning anddevelopment
  • Per the California State University's Out-of-State EmploymentPolicy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to performCSU-related work outside California. Working in the State ofCalifornia is a condition of employment
Preferred qualifications:
  • A doctorate or equivalent
  • Professionally engaged through professional associationaffiliations and/or consulting services
  • Previous teaching and coaching experience
  • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrateintercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campuscommunity as it relates to teaching and, as applicable,service.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-timemonth

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic YearClassification is available based on the following ranges:

  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 -$6,677 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education andexperience.
