Lecturer in Anthropology
California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) is an inclusive institution dedicated to transforming lives through education, opportunity, and community engagement. Established in 2002, it serves a diverse community of more than 4,880 students with a 18:1 student-to-faculty ratio and offers 26 bachelor’s degree programs.
The Department of Anthropology at CSU CI imparts broad anthropological knowledge, fostering critical thinking and engagement with contemporary issues. Faculty collaborate with regional institutions, parks, public schools, and non‑profit organizations to provide diverse learning opportunities.
The Department seeks qualified applicants for its lecturer faculty pool. Positions may be available to teach undergraduate lecture, laboratory, or field courses in any subfield of anthropology, with particular interest in archaeology, bioanthropology, and sociocultural anthropology. Course assignments may include introductory or upper‑division courses depending on program needs.
Lecturer faculty are responsible for preparing course materials, delivering engaging instruction, assessing student learning, and supporting CSUCI’s mission of integrative, experiential, and inclusive education.
