Position Details

The Department of Food Science at Rutgers University invites applications for the position of Course Assistant (Lecturer and Coadjutant Non-Teaching) for the Fall 2023 semester. This part-time role involves assisting with undergraduate and graduate courses such as Science of Food, Principles of Food Science, Sensory Evaluation of Foods, Food Chemistry, and related subjects.

Responsibilities
  1. Teach all or part of assigned courses, or assist faculty with lectures and lab sessions.
  2. Attend scheduled course meetings as directed by the faculty.
  3. Prepare course materials including syllabi, presentations, and handouts.
  4. Provide feedback to students and assist with grading and exam reviews.
  5. Offer LMS software support if required.
Qualifications
  1. Degree in food science, preferably at the MS or PhD level.
  2. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness and experience are preferred.
  3. Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
  4. Authorization to work in the USA.
