Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and Illinois State Standards.
  2. Implement the assigned program of study.
  3. Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
  4. Utilize instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time of task.
  5. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals.
  6. Communicate effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis.
  7. Meet professional responsibilities and maintain professional work habits.
  8. Maintain and upgrade professional skills.
  9. Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
Qualifications
  • Letters of application, recommendations, and references.
  • Ability to work as a team member; previous experience with elementary age children is preferred.
  • Valid Illinois Elementary Teaching Certificate or eligibility.
  • Demonstrate Highly Qualified status per No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
  • Experience teaching the specific class preferred; recent coursework or student teaching in the subject considered if no prior experience.
  • Ability to speak a foreign language is preferred.
Additional Information

Salary: $227.98/day (long term substitute daily rate); no additional benefits.

Notes: Position scheduled to begin approximately August 18, 2025, and conclude December 2, 2025.
