Qualifications

  • High school degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Some college coursework preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in federal/state leave of absence administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMLA is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for leave with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Write letters and business documents based on leave information.
  • Review leave requests per client policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information.
  • Use case management system to track and manage cases.
  • Work with supervisor to resolve issues and improve processes.

Job SummaryThis position is responsible for processing correspondence related to requests for leave, and the creation of written correspondence that conforms to our client’s documentation and quality assurance standards.This position is a full-time, non-exempt role and the ideal candidate will work from Monday to Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM PST.Telecommuting/Remote work is offered for this role, but the candidate MUST have the flexibility to work from our Orange, CA corporate office, when needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for responding to requests for leave. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:Providing exceptional customer service by exhibiting a high sense of urgency, exceptional follow up and follow through and positive communications, both verbally and in writing.Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and conformance to the workflow process before moving case to the next level.Demonstrating attention to details as well as thoroughly reviewing documentation through WorkCare’s case management system.Identifying issues and concerns as they arise and bringing them forward to the supervisor to develop a plan for resolution.Responsible for writing letters and other business-related documents. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:Reads source documents and creates letters based on leave information and recommendation.Composes correspondence in a clear and concise manner.Fully reviews all aspects of leave requests and makes recommendations that are consistent with the client’s policies and procedures.Performs additional duties and assumes additional responsibilities as identified by supervisor for the efficient operation of WorkCare.Education and ExperienceHigh school degree requiredBachelor’s degree preferredSome college course work preferred2 years’ experience working with federal and state leave of absence administration preferredFamily Medical Leave Act (FMLA) knowledge a plusBilingual (Spanish speaking) preferredSkills and CompetenciesProven ability to maintain privacy and confidentialityCritical thinking skills a mustMake independent decisions in accordance with company policies and procedures; and take initiative various issues that may ariseAbility to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organizationMust have knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammarMust have the ability to perform basic math functionsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completenessAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a teamAbility to gather data, compile information and prepare reports and/or presentationsRequires regular and predictable attendance and punctualityComputer SkillsStrong PC skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Ability to learn new software as neededPhysical DemandsRequires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.Some bending and stretching could be required.Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.Work EnvironmentWork Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled. At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy, and safety requirements.This position has an hourly pay range of $25-$28 per hour.
