Job summary

Hickory Chair in Hickory, NC, seeks a Leather Cutter for upholstery production. This full-time, day-shift role reads work orders, selects leather, and performs cutting to required shapes and sizes.

You will inspect leather for defects, verify dye lots, and maintain equipment, while keeping a clean, safe workspace and following safety policies. A high school diploma is preferred and leather cutting experience is a plus.

Position Summary:

Primary Duties:

• Verifies that leather and pattern correspond to the work order.
• Inspects leather for defects and verifies the dye lots.
• Locates correct pattern and checks swatches for proper alignment of leather.
• Marks out the leather and cuts to proper size and shape.
• Marks and bundles all parts together and places in proper area for pick-up.
• Records all yardages used on ticket.
• Maintains equipment and work area in an orderly manner.

QualificationsPosition Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Previous leather cutting experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks
• Must be able to work in noisy environments
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed
• Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 51-75 lbs.
