Russo Development and Russo Property Management in northern New Jersey is seeking a Leasing Specialist for a luxury multifamily property in Garwood, NJ. You will work closely with the Property Manager to lease up the community and maintain a first-class resident experience.

Responsibilities include tours, processing applications, leases, renewals, move-ins, and coordinating with maintenance, marketing, and staff to hit occupancy goals while upholding Fair Housing and company standards.

Qualifications

• High School / GED education required.
• 2–4 years of experience in a luxury multifamily apartment community.
• Strong organizational abilities, customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Microsoft Office experience and familiarity with Fair Housing and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Greet prospective residents and provide detailed community tours.
• Process new applications and lease renewals, and prepare renewal letters.
• Sign leases, walk apartments for move-ins, and show units.
• Assist new residents during move-in with rules and amenity locations.
• Coordinate with maintenance on turnovers and show-able units.
• Inspect the community and report maintenance needs.
• Support marketing goals to increase traffic and leads.
• Maintain resident files and occupancy logs.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Leasing Specialist, to join our team. The Leasing Specialist will work closely with the Property Manager and will primarily be responsible for the overall day to day lease up of the community. Responsibilities include close interaction with prospective and current residents with the motivation to represent and maintain a first-class experience for everyone who visits or lives at the community. The person in this position will be expected to accomplish the leasing goals set forth by the Property Manager and senior management, is responsible for assisting with maintaining the physical grounds, leasing office, amenity spaces, building exteriors, common areas, and parking lots.
The candidate chosen for the position will be placed at our luxurious property located in Garwood, NJ.

Position Responsibilities

• Greet prospective residents and provide detailed community tours.
• Provide excellent administrative support including processing new applications and lease renewals, preparing renewal letters, maintaining a monthly renewal log to closely monitor occupancy, and organizing and maintaining resident files per company procedure.
• Handle signing of leases, walking apartments for move-ins and show-able units.
• Assist new residents during the move-in process – explain lease agreement, community rules, location of amenities, and a walk through of their new home at time of moving in.
• Work with the maintenance department to handle apartment turnovers, move-ins, and work order requests and assist in maintaining the cleanliness of show-able units and tour routes including grounds and common areas.
• Physically inspects the community when on grounds and report any maintenance needs to the team.
• Play a key role in resolving resident concerns and issues.
• Maintain thorough product knowledge of the property, sister properties, and competitors.
• Assist Property Manager in developing and implementing effective marketing goals to increase traffic and leads, and innovative strategies that build positive buzz and key connections with current residents and prospects.

Requirements

• High School / GED education required.
• 2-4 years of experience in a luxury multifamily apartment community.
• Must have strong organizational abilities, customer service skills, and an attention to detail.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Microsoft Office Experience.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Yardi experience a plus.
• Must be familiar with Fair Housing, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other laws and regulations governing multi-family housing operations.
• Customer service first attitude. Professional, courteous, and friendly demeanor.
• Proactive self-starter and a team-player
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents and staff
