Job description

LEASING SPECIALIST (Temporary)

Position: Leasing Specialist - Project, Point & Ravine, Yonkers, NY

As a Leasing Specialist at Conifer, you will:

  • Assist in all operations of the leasing office.
  • Work with Conifer’s Compliance team to ensure properties comply with Tax Credit (LIHTC) housing program regulations.
  • Work Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

You will report directly to the Community Manager for our community, Pointe Ravine in Yonkers, NY - 146 units. Your responsibilities include minimizing vacancies, leasing apartments quickly, maintaining good resident relations, ensuring program compliance, and performing office tasks. You will qualify tenants, give community tours, and manage move-ins. Daily activities involve collaboration with the community team and external partners to ensure compliance, successful turnovers, and operational stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet all deadlines related to compliance regulations.
  • Complete compliance reports as required.
  • Support Compliance and Leasing team members.
  • Willingness to learn and train on additional housing compliance programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with regulatory housing compliance representatives.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of affordable housing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Low-Income Tax Credit, HUD Section 8, and other HUD programs.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing compliance software.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; accurate data entry and proofreading.
  • Yardi Voyager experience is preferred; willingness to learn if not already familiar.
  • Basic accounting skills related to receivables, payables, and income assessment.

Education/Certifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • COS, AHM, Star (Rural Development 515), HCCP, SHCM, or Fair Housing certifications preferred.

The hourly rate is $19.00 - $21.00, depending on experience and qualifications. This range does not include additional compensation like bonuses.
