Leasing Consultants drive occupancy by marketing and seeking new residents and retaining current residents.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Address concerns of residents and prospects professionally and friendly
  • Market and advertise the community using various media and promotional materials
  • Present the community positively to prospects, helping them envision it as their future home, and assess their needs and qualifications
  • Tour and lease units by accompanying prospects, discussing features, amenities, and lease terms
  • Enter prospect and applicant data into property management software
  • Negotiate lease terms and close deals
  • Assist residents with application or lease renewal paperwork, and verify data and references
  • Follow up with residents and prospects timely (thank you notes, calls, etc.)
  • Schedule and communicate move-ins and outs
  • Maintain up-to-date resident files
  • Stay informed on market status and assist with market surveys
  • Prepare and distribute notices, newsletters, and event information
  • Assist Property Manager with administrative tasks as needed
  • Refer applicants to other managed communities when appropriate
  • Interact positively to maintain high resident satisfaction
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity
  • Contribute to community cleanliness and curb appeal
  • Comply with Fair Housing laws and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Capable of performing essential functions with or without accommodations
  • Good understanding and communication of written and verbal directions
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to work overtime and be on-call
  • Availability on the first and last days of the month for turnovers
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of sales or related experience
