Leasing Consultant

Location: River Ridge - Asheville, NC

Summary

The Leasing Consultant is the first point of contact for potential and current residents, responsible for all sales activities from lead generation to closing. This includes handling incoming prospect traffic, touring available units, qualifying applicants, and renewing leases. The role ensures successful leasing by adhering to community policies and providing high-quality customer service. Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate strong sales skills to internal and external customers.
  2. Manage the sales process from start to finish to meet sales goals.
  3. Follow up on all sales leads via phone, walk-ins, internet, etc., until closed or deemed lost.
  4. Generate qualified leads through referrals, networking, advertising, and outreach.
  5. Tour apartments, answer questions, and assess potential residents' needs.
  6. Close sales/renewals by effectively communicating community value and quality commitment.
  7. Maintain a healthy closing ratio based on community needs.
  8. Follow up on pending renewal offers.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to residents and prospects.
  10. Build and maintain relationships with residents.
  11. Address resident requests and concerns promptly and effectively.
  12. Organize and promote resident events to enhance satisfaction and retention.
  13. Participate in social media marketing efforts.
  14. Use market analysis tools to maintain competitive advantage.
  15. Prepare and manage leasing paperwork accurately and timely.
  16. Maintain professionalism at all times.
  17. Efficiently manage multiple tasks and streamline processes.
  18. Assist with administrative tasks such as accounting and payroll under supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Strong sales orientation with attention to detail.
  2. Self-motivated with initiative and goal-oriented.
  3. Excellent communication and follow-up skills via email, text, and phone.
  4. Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  6. Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and be a team player.
  7. Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
  • Experience in leasing, sales, or customer service preferred.
Educational and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training preferred. Good communication skills and ability to interact with diverse groups.

Additional Skills

Ability to generate reports, present information effectively, and perform basic math operations. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Demands

Regularly use hands, talk, hear; frequently stand, walk, sit; occasionally reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; lift up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Primarily indoors at the leasing office, with mobility in various locations. Moderate noise level expected.
