Position Overview

The Leasing Consultant reports to the Community Manager, Leasing Manager, or Assistant Manager. Responsibilities include generating leads, selling and renewing apartment leases in compliance with Company and Fair Housing guidelines, and delivering excellent customer service. The role requires professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions
  • Communicate daily with staff, community managers, and handle service requests.
  • Assist at other communities as needed.
  • Travel for training and company business as required.
  • Participate in all required training programs.
  • Manage marketing, motivation, administrative, and financial operations under the direction of the Community Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of community details, specials, and floor plans.
  • Handle leasing documents and processes in accordance with guidelines.
  • Prepare leases and lease renewals, and process applications for approval.
  • Qualify prospects via Rent Cafe and maintain leasing files.
  • Identify potential residents using market data and industry knowledge.
  • Inspect units and coordinate move-ins and move-outs.
  • Generate new business contacts and marketing ideas.
  • Complete outreach marketing duties.
  • Use market survey data to generate traffic.
  • Assist with marketing promotions and advertisements.
  • Achieve and maintain high closing and shopping report scores.
  • Monitor competitive properties and online marketing efforts.
  • Update pricing and online listings accurately.
  • Utilize third-party online leasing programs effectively.
  • Enter prospect information promptly and accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous leasing experience preferred.
  • Strong sales and closing skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, YieldStar, MS Office, and online leasing platforms preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Positive, motivating, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and customers.

Work Schedule: Generally, 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends; hours may vary based on business needs.
