Job summary

Shelter Corporation is seeking a Leasing Agent to support leasing activities across multiple communities. You will give tours, process leads, prepare rental applications and leases, and maintain wait and interest lists to help maintain occupancy goals. Strong communication and organization are essential, along with customer service and tech proficiency.

Weekend availability may be required. High school diploma required; prior sales experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide tours of homes and communities to potential residents for leasing.
• Maintain accurate records of phone, email, and walk-in traffic utilizing computer software.
• Pursue and process leads in a timely manner, utilizing electronic tracking methods.
• Prepare and process rental applications.
• Prepare leases for qualified potential residents.
• Maintain the interest lists and wait list for locations with a wait list requirement.
• Comply with all Federal, State, and local Fair Housing regulations and ordinances.
• Work weekends or holidays as needed.
• Act as backup or additional support for other Leasing Department members.
• Assist with lease-ups at newly built locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary & Primary Responsibilities:

The Leasing Agent is responsible for supporting leasing activities and ensuring subsequent move‑in processes are followed appropriately. This position works closely with other Leasing Department team members as well as other Operational Departments to maintain expected occupancy levels at the locations they serve. In addition, this position is responsible for the following:

• Provides tours of homes and communities to potential residents for purpose of leasing at multiple locations
• Keeps accurate records of phone, email, and walk‑in traffic utilizing computer software
• Pursues and processes leads in a timely manner, utilizing electronic tracking methods
• Prepares and processes rental applications
• Prepares leases for qualified potential residents
• Maintains the interest lists for the locations they serve as well as the wait list for locations with a wait list requirement
• Complies with all Federal, State, and local Fair Housing regulations and ordinances
• Must be able to work on weekends or holidays as needed
• Acts as backup or additional support for other members of the Leasing Department as needed
• Assists with lease‑ups at newly built locations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
