Job summary

The Liberty Group is seeking an experienced Leasing Agent with affordable housing expertise for opportunities in the Greater Boston area. The role focuses on LIHTC, Section 8, HUD and compliance, with emphasis on certifications and resident eligibility.

Candidates with hands-on property management experience in LIHTC communities are encouraged to apply. Opportunities vary from temporary to longer-term positions, with emphasis on compliance and resident relations within Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• Experience with LIHTC, Section 8, HUD or affordable housing compliance.
• Onsite experience at an affordable housing community is preferred.
• Familiarity with annual and interim recertifications and income/asset verification.
• Experience reviewing eligibility documentation and maintaining compliant resident files.
• Proficiency in rent calculations and resident documentation, and handling applicant interviews.

Responsibilities

• Perform income and asset verifications for applicants and residents.
• Process certifications and recertifications accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliant resident files and documentation.
• Conduct applicant interviews and manage affordable housing applications.
• Assist with rent calculations and resident communications and documentation.
• Collaborate with property management teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

Affordable Housing / LIHTC / Section 8 Experience Needed

The Liberty Group is seeking experienced property management and leasing professionals with Affordable Housing experience for immediate opportunities in the Greater Boston area.

We are specifically looking to connect with candidates who have hands‑on experience with LIHTC, Section 8, HUD and/or affordable housing compliance. If you have worked onsite at an affordable housing community and understand the certification and recertification process, we want to hear from you.

Experience we're looking for includes:

• LIHTC / Low-Income Housing Tax Credit
• Section 8 and HUD programs
• Annual and interim recertifications
• Income and asset verification
• Third-party verifications
• Reviewing resident eligibility documentation
• Processing certification and recertification paperwork
• Maintaining compliant resident files
• Applicant interviews and affordable housing applications
• Rent calculations and resident documentation
• Working within affordable housing compliance requirements
• Resident relations and general property administration

Property management software experience is a plus, including:

• Yardi
• RealPage
• OneSite
• MRI or similar property management systems

Candidates with experience as a Leasing Consultant, Occupancy Specialist, Recertification Specialist, Assistant Property Manager or Property Management Administrator within affordable housing are strongly encouraged to apply.
