Job summary

Devon is seeking a Lease Operator to prioritize safety and regulatory compliance while overseeing wells, equipment, and plant facilities. You will perform production tests, monitor subsystems, and coordinate with Optimization Operators and other teams to optimize lease site performance.

The role requires proficiency with ProdView, Eagle app, Cygnet and Pi, and emphasizes incident reporting, environmental and safety compliance, and maintaining an organized, safe work site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in E&P Operations, Lease Site Management or Pipeline Operations.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct operational assessments of wells, equipment and plant facilities, submitting daily production and maintenance reports.
• Perform production tests and minor repairs; maintain orderly lease-site work environment.
• Monitor control panels, gauges and meters; coordinate with maintenance teams to implement solutions.
• Ensure regulatory, environmental and safety compliance and participate in incident investigations.

The operator conducts operational assessments of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities, ensuring the submission of daily assessment reports on well production, equipment performance, and maintenance activities. The role involves executing production tests, monitoring minor subsurface well maintenance (non-BOPE jobs), and ensuring the maintenance of company equipment. The operator reviews operating parameters recorded into systems if SCADA is unavailable and coordinates with Optimization Operators, and DSC/PA concerning wells and lease activities. Proficiency in ProdView, Eagle App, Cygnet, and Pi is demonstrated. The operator maintains regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance and assists in moderately complex oversight operational tasks at lease sites, prioritizing projects, and making recommendations for optimization.Operational Responsibilities:As a Lease Operator, the focus remains on conducting operational assessments of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities, ensuring the submission of daily assessment reports on well production, equipment performance, and maintenance activities. The role involves executing production tests, performing minor repairs, and ensuring general upkeep (fences, signs, weeds, trash) and maintenance of an organized work environment at lease sites. The operator performs regular monitoring of control panels, gauges, and meters to ensure proper equipment functioning and leads the setup and installation of new equipment as required.Compliance and Safety:The operator maintains positive relationships with local, state, and federal representatives, contractors, and surface owners, providing field-wide contact with all personnel in the event of an emergency or other significant occurrences. The operator ensures the maintenance of all company equipment, including computers, vehicles, and analysis or test equipment, and represents the company in the delivery/receipt of materials and equipment. The role includes maintaining regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and the Environmental Health and Safety Department. The operator actively participates in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in lease site operations, reports incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly to supervisors, and participates in incident investigations.Technical Skills:The operator reviews operating parameters recorded into systems if SCADA is unavailable, develops an understanding of operational issues at lease sites, and collaborates with maintenance teams to implement timely and effective solutions. The role involves demonstrating proficiency in ProdView, Eagle app, Cygnet, and Pi, ensuring SOPs are followed, prioritizing projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of the importance of safety and regulatory compliance (especially around emissions and spills), and making recommendations for the optimization of lease site operations. The operator recognizes, analyzes, and resolves complex problems at lease sites, taking corrective action in emergency and non-emergency situations, contributing to operational efficiency and safety.Education:• High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education is required.Experience:• 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in areas such as Lease Site Management, Equipment Maintenance, and Pipeline Operations or a related field.
