Job summary

RWDY Inc. is seeking an E&P Lease Operator in Cuero, TX. The role requires surveillance and upkeep of lease sites, daily reporting of gas/liquid volumes, pressures, and chemicals, and ensuring wells run efficiently.

Day and night shifts available; mileage reimbursed. Safety and environmental compliance are critical. The candidate should have 4+ years of Lease Operator experience, strong communication skills, and H2S/Safeland or RigPass certs before start.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Lease Operator experience; oil and gas industry preferred.
• H2S and Safeland (or RigPass) certifications required before start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational checks of wells, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Record run time, fuel usage, and parameters into systems when SCADA is unavailable.
• Conduct production tests and perform minor repairs.
• Identify alarms and coordinate with automation to adjust alarms.
• Monitor subsurface well maintenance including swab, slickline, plunger work and related tasks.
• Collaborate with Engineer, Optimization Operator, and DSC/PA on wells and lease activities.
• Maintain lease sites, including fences, signs, weeds, and trash.
• Communicate maintenance needs to Planner Scheduler.
• Ensure accuracy of run tickets; represent the company in material deliveries.

Job description

Job Title: Lease Operator
Compensation: $52.93–$55.30/hr
Location: Cuero, TX
Schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off; 10-hour shifts. Day and night-shift opportunities.
Mileage: In-field mileage reimbursed at $0.76/mile.

Scope

The E&P Ops Production Operator is responsible for surveillance and overall upkeep of oil and gas lease sites. Under general supervision, this position prepares, maintains, and submits daily reports and records of gas and/or liquid volumes, well pressures, and chemicals used; assures wells are up and running; and develops an understanding of lease issues.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform operational checks of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Record run time, fuel usage, and operating parameters into systems if SCADA is unavailable.
• Conduct production tests and perform minor repairs.
• Identify producing well alarms and work with automation to adjust alarms as necessary.
• Monitor minor subsurface well maintenance limited to non-BOPE jobs, including swab, slickline, plunger maintenance, hot oil/water, regulatory work, routine testing, batch/chemical/scale jobs, long stroke/respace, cap string inspection, fluid levels, and dynamometer work.
• Collaborate with the Engineer, Optimization Operator, and DSC/PA concerning wells and lease activities.
• Maintain lease sites, including fences, signs, weeds, and trash.
• Communicate corrective maintenance needs to the Planner Scheduler.
• Ensure accuracy of run tickets as required.
• Represent the company in the delivery and receipt of materials and equipment.
• Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in close coordination with Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
• Secure and maintain all company equipment, including computers, vehicles, and analysis or test equipment.
• Stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected.
• Provide field-wide contact with personnel in the event of an emergency or other significant occurrence.
• Maintain positive relationships with local, state/provincial, and federal representatives and surface owners.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of Lease Operator experience; oil and gas industry experience preferred.
• Practice safe work habits and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and the environment.
• Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work within a team.
• Ability to analyze and solve mechanical problems.
• Ability to safely and effectively wear self-contained breathing equipment and work in an H2S environment.
• H2S and Safeland (or RigPass) certifications required before the start date. Certification costs are not billable to Devon.
• Must provide a four-gas monitor.
