Job summary

Rwdy-Inc in Jal, NM seeks a Lease Operator to perform surveillance and upkeep of oil and gas lease sites. You will record production volumes, well pressures and other data, and conduct production tests with safety as a priority.

The position requires at least 4 years of Lease Operator experience, H2S and Safeland or RigPass certifications, and the ability to work in an H2S environment; you’ll operate 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on a day shift, with a 10-hour workday and about 6–8 months of assignment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Lease Operator experience.
• Ability to safely wear SCBA and work in an H2S environment.
• H2S and Safeland or RigPass certifications before start date.
• Strong safety practices, communication, teamwork, and mechanical problem-solving.
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveillance and upkeep of lease sites, including checks of wells, equipment and facilities.
• Record production volumes, well pressures, chemical usage and other operating data; enter run time, fuel usage and parameters when SCADA is unavailable.
• Conduct production tests, perform minor repairs, respond to well alarms and coordinate with automation personnel.
• Monitor subsurface maintenance on non-BOPE jobs (swab, slickline, plunger, hot oil/water, tests, chem treatments, fluid levels, dynamometer).
• Coordinate lease activities with engineers, the Optimization Operator and DSC/PA; maintain lease sites and verify run tickets.
• Maintain regulatory, environmental and safety compliance; stop work when unsafe conditions exist and assist with emergencies.

Scope

Perform surveillance and upkeep of oil and gas lease sites, including operational checks of wells, equipment, and facilities. Record production volumes, well pressures, chemical usage, and other operating data; enter run time, fuel usage, and operating parameters when SCADA is unavailable. Conduct production tests, make minor repairs, respond to well alarms, and coordinate with automation personnel.

Monitor minor subsurface maintenance on non-BOPE jobs, including swab, slickline, plunger maintenance, hot oil/water, routine testing, chemical and scale treatments, fluid levels, and dynamometer work. Coordinate lease activities with engineers, the Optimization Operator, and DSC/PA. Maintain lease sites, communicate maintenance needs to the Planner Scheduler, verify run tickets, and support the delivery and receipt of materials and equipment.

Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance. Stop work when unsafe conditions exist or are suspected, assist with field-wide communication during emergencies, and maintain working relationships with surface owners and government representatives.

Requirements

• Ability to safely wear self-contained breathing equipment and work in an H2S environment.
• H2S and Safeland or RigPass certifications before the start date. Certification costs cannot be billed to Devon.
• Strong safety practices, communication, teamwork, and mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred.
