Job summary

Redwoodtown School is seeking an experienced Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) to join as a permanent part-time role (0.6) from early 2027. The LSC will help shape a new position focused on inclusive practice, early identification of learning needs and coordinating targeted support across the school.

The role involves working with whānau, leadership, Ministry teams, RTLB and other specialists to build teacher capability and provide coordinated support for learners with additional learning needs.

Qualifications

• Registered teacher with current practising certificate.
• Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
• Strong communication and culturally responsive practice.
• Ability to build positive relationships and advocate for learners.

Responsibilities

• Work across the school to strengthen inclusive practice and identify learning support needs.
• Coordinate appropriate support and build the capability of teachers and learning assistants.
• Collaborate with whānau, school leadership, Ministry of Education teams, RTLB and other specialist services.
• Contribute to ensuring every learner can belong, participate, progress and experience success.
